Did you know that for 26 years I have wanted a Mothers ANYTHING? A ring, a pendant that I could add charms to, a bracelet – anything! Call me crazy, but I’m a visual person, and I love to have pictures or little mementoes of my kids nearby. I have little trinkets that they have given to me all over my desk – a ceramic coaster that my daughter made for me years ago when she was still in school; a little penguin that Tre gave to me; a picture Jonathan drew for me. While I love each and every one of those items, I didn’t have something that I could wear, that I could look at and touch – even miles from home – that would remind me of my dear blessings.
Pearls by Laurel changed all that for me when they provided me with a Mother’s Bracelet free of charge to facilitate this review. All opinions however; as usual, are 100% my own.
That is the absolutely beautiful Mother’s Bracelet that I quite easily designed and ordered right on the website. The aquamarine on the left is Tre’s birthstone (March). The next is the garnet which is John’s birthstone (January). Yes, I had to include The Man Thing too! Next is the amethyst which is my birthstone for February. Finally we have the citrine to the right which is the birthstone for November for April and Jonathan. Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous?
Ordering and Sizing
Pearls by Laurel makes creating your own bracelet as simple as 1, 2, 3. You choose your style, add your birthstones, and then choose your size. I’m a plus-size gal so I wasn’t sure about the medium size (their most popular and the best bet for gift giving) but I went with it and it fits me perfectly. Within just a few days from ordering, I had my stunningly beautiful bracelet on my arm.
Meet Laurel of Pearls by Laurel
I had a chance to chat with Laurel directly via email (how cool is that?) and I asked her how she got started in the business of making Mother’s Bracelets. She doesn’t sell any other type of Mother’s jewelry. No rings, no pendants, just gorgeous bracelets. Here’s what she had to say.
It’s a funny story how our business started. I’ve always enjoyed beading and I had made these Mother’s bracelets for family and friends for a few years. Then, for my 31st birthday, I asked my husband, who is a web designer, to build me a small website so that I could sell 3-5 bracelets a week in my spare time. This was going to be a small hobby business. Well, my husband (who is quite a visionary) had other plans. He ended up putting a lot of time into the website and after it launched also began experimenting with Facebook advertising. By pure luck, we hit on a formula that worked. Just a few months after my birthday instead of selling 3-5 bracelets a week we were selling 300-500 bracelets/week! And it’s been a wild ride since then.
Since then, her husband has taken over the day-to-day operations of the store while Laurel focuses on caring for her 4 children at home and handling product development, email and social media for Pearls by Laurel.
This is definitely a stocking stuffer favorite on our Gifts for Her gift guide. Just $29.95 for an exquisitely elegant item that the mother in your life will cherish forever. You can connect with Pearls by Laurel on Facebook – Twitter – Pinterest – Google+.
Thanks so much for the Terrific Review of Pearls from Laurel! Your bracelet is absolutely gorgeous! I've been wanting a "mother's something" as well. I'm still waiting. LOL I really love how she started her business and as usual, when men, especially husbands, get involved it always goes bigger than you thought! It's terrific that she sells so many a week! That's an awful lot of bracelets! I'm surprised she hasn't branched out into necklaces yet. Wouldn't a pearl mother's necklace look Terrific! I think it would be Gorgeous! Thanks so much for the Terrific review and the information on your bracelet and on Pearls from Laurel! I truly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂
You are most welcome Michele! I wasn't all that surprised about how many Laurel sells each week (after all, there really aren't any others out there selling the type of beautiful Mother's bracelets like she does). I would love to see her branch out and do necklaces as well! I think that would be awesome … maybe we can coerce her into thinking about it lol!
