If your kids are anything like mine, the want the latest Wii game or XBox game, the latest music CD, or the latest DVD of their favorite movie. After they’ve played it a few times, watched it a few times, listened to it a few times, they grow tired of it and it ends up in the ever-growing pile of CDs and DVDs taking up space in your home and collecting dust. I don’t know about you, but I have enough other trinkets and doo-dads collecting dust for me without adding an ever growing stack of DVDs as well!
So I was tickled pink when I learned about a company that makes it super easy for you to de-clutter your home and make some money at the same time!
We don’t have a lot of music CDs in our house, and (unfortunately) a lot of the movie DVDs that we have the kids have scratched up and made inoperable. In order to use the service, all DVDs, CDs or games sold must be in a perfect playing condition and must contain all of the original artwork, covers and booklets that came with it. The case must be structurally sound although they will accept it if it has some slight blemishes incurred from day-to-day use.
Most of our trade-ins are games for the PlayStation2, XBox or Wii gaming systems, and we usually trade them in at GameStop for a pittance of what we paid for them. I bought T. the Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 game for the Wii for Christmas 2012. He’s played it about 5 times and it is now gathering dust on the shelf, he’s lost interest in it. So I decided to do a comparison shop and see just how much a used game is worth.

The brand new price is $19.99 |

The pre-owned price is $17.99 |
I called GameStop and asked them what the trade-in value would be on the game and they are willing to give me $5.00 credit for the game – even though it is in pristine condition and only used a handful of times. Then I typed in the barcode from the package in to get their offer:
As you can see, they will give me $6.76 for this game – almost $2.00 more than what I would get locally!
They make it so simple to sell your DVDs, CDs and Games online, and the cost to ship your items is completely FREE!
