What is YOUR dream vacation?
Being able to pay the bills by the skin of our teeth most months doesn’t always leave a lot of leeway for planned vacations far from home. That does not mean that we can’t dream of that special “one of these days” vacations our family has been dying to take.
I have an uncle who lives in Daytona Beach, Florida. We were there with my parents many years ago when I was younger. The one thing that I remember the most about our visit are the sea turtles. I have always held a fascination for the sea turtles and I crave the chance to see them come on shore to lay their eggs.
I want to return to Daytona Beach to see the sea turtles and the boys (naturally) want to go to Epcot Center and I want to go to Disney World. (Hubby doesn’t care where we go as long as the ocean is nearby and he can fish!!!) Call me crazy, but I still have a childhood wish to see Cinderella in person at her castle. It is something I have dreamed of ever since I was a young girl, something I wanted to do with my own daughter (and never got to the chance to do) and is definitely on my list of things to do before I depart this earth.
So we have settled on an all inclusive resort vacation package in Florida as our “dream vacation.” I have always (personally) been a fan of Club Med resorts ever since seeing a commercial for their Caribbean resort hotel. Now mind you, I wouldn’t turn down a vacation to the Caribbean, but planning something for Florida which is closer to home and has attractions that will appeal to every member of the family – that’s the vacation package for us!
I’ve checked prices, and with a bit of saving and some travel time on the road (since Virginia isn’t all that far from Florida), we can have enough money saved up for a wonderfully memorable vacation at one of the all inclusive resorts in Florida if we save $100 a month. We would be able to head off to our dream vacation in 2016, stay for a week, and enjoy the time of our lives! Three years might seem like a long time, but it is something that we can all look forward to, work towards, and will enjoy immensely as a family!
