I’m going to just put this out there. I snore. Quite frequently and quite loudly according to the members of my household. There have been several nights (more than I can remember) when hubby has woken me up and told me to “roll over and shut up already.”
Yeah. It’s that bad. I recently made an appointment with my local sleep disorder physician and was given a sleep apnea testing device that attached to my chest to wear for one evening of sleep. This device monitored my heart rate and oxygen and any changes in my breathing. I returned it back to the doctor the following day. Unfortunately, my husband said that was one of the rare evenings when I didn’t snore – or at least not loud enough to disturb or wake him.
I’ve been waiting for over a month for the doctor to call me with the test results. They must not be all that earth-shattering or life-threatening since I’ve left repeated messages for her to call me with the results to no avail.
So in the meantime, I’ve used an item called the Good Night Anti-Snoring Ring. Go ahead and laugh, I did at first too. How on earth can a ring possibly possess the ability to keep someone from snoring?
As with all items that I review, I went into the trial with an open mind. The instructions that accompanied the ring were very clear and explicit as to how to wear the ring. This little gem uses Eastern acupressure principals to reduce or all together eliminate your snoring. As instructed, I began by wearing it on my right finger and positioning it as described in the image below:
The little small “bump” that is inside the ring needs to be placed on the inner part of your little finger, with the larger ridge area facing out on your little finger. You put the ring on about 30 minutes prior to going to sleep, so usually when most people get into bed if they watch television or talk to their spouses for a bit before falling asleep.
Picking your size couldn’t be easier either. The rings can be squeezed gently to make a snug yet comfortable fit on your finger, and there is a sizing chart available on the website with sizing information for the United States, United Kingdom, German, Swiss, French, Italian, Japanese and Australian customers.
What Does It Do?
From the Good Night website:
The Good Night Anti-snoring ring uses acupressure theory by applying pressure on specific points on your little finger. The Good Night ring is unique in that it is the only product that uses two acupressure points. This advanced technology brings about superior benefits, not only eliminating snoring but working in harmony with your body’s bio rhythms. It is a natural non-invasive way of getting a great night’s sleep for you and your partner, ensuring you awake fresh, invigorated and ready to face the challenges of the day.
Please note that the Good Night ring will only work when you wear it, so please use your ring every night and make sure you place it at the very base of the little “pinky” finger. For more help please see the information leaflet. To obtain maximum benefit, try to wear your Good Night ring at least 30 minutes before you go to sleep and do not wear the ring for more than 12 hours at a time. In most cases it can work the first night but it may take 4-5 days for the body to get acclimatised to the acupressure. And in some cases we may not be able to help, that is why we give you money back guarantee.
The first week that I wore my ring each night when I went to bed, it worked like a charm. I wasn’t waking my husband or the kids up with my snoring. Unfortunately, the following week I wasn’t so fortunate and I began to snore again when I was asleep. I do not think that this was due to the ring not working. I developed a bad sinus cold and well, quite frankly, anyone who gets a sinus cold is bound to rattle and snort throughout the night!
I tried it on my other hand the following week – my left hand – and I had the same results. Worked good for about a week with no noise waking hubby up or keeping him from falling asleep, but then he said that I began to snore once again, off and on. I do want to note that I still had my sinus congestion and cold, so I think that had a lot to do with the fact that I was snoring.
I have worn it since the sinus cold has cleared up with about a 70-40 success rate. I am at least able to sleep in my own bed with my husband (versus being banished to the living room couch) at least 4 nights out of 7 now!
I truly think that the Good Night Anti-Snoring Ring can help bring some peace and quiet to your home. While it is not guaranteed to work for everybody, it does help quite a few people. If this is something that can help you avoid expensive CPAP machines and dental guards that need to be worn while you sleep – wouldn’t you much rather the comfort of a little unobtrusive ring to having to deal with THAT? With the “satisfaction guaranteed or your money back” policy as well – you can’t go wrong!
