On a personal note, Moms should be celebrated EVERY day of the year for all that they do for their families and their children. If we are confined to just one day a year, however, we would like to thank all of the mothers and wish each of you a Happy Mother’s Day.
From our own moms, the moms who came before us and paved the way for their children to be whoever, whatever, they wanted to be. The celebrity moms, the political moms, the coastal moms and mountain moms, the moms who homeschool, the moms who carpool, the moms whose house is the gathering spot for after school activities, the moms who raise their children with morals and values, the moms who raise their children to be free spirits. The moms who became moms much too early, the moms who gave their children up for adoption for a better life, the moms who adopted those children, moms fighting an addiction or mental illness, the moms who are raising special needs children (child) alone – we see you. To all the moms who have lost a child, you are still a mom and we embrace you with love and compassion, as we know that Mother’s Day is bittersweet for you and a painful reminder of your loss. Finally, the surrogate moms – you deserve to be celebrated on Mother’s Day as well. You helped a couple become a family – one of the greatest gifts you could ever give someone. To the women with no children of their own but who mother all the children in the neighborhood – you are loved and appreciated as well.
Celebrating ALL Moms
Moms are one of the few creatures that give of themselves above and beyond their normal capacity, sometimes to the detriment of their own health and mental well-being, just so that they can provide for their children to give them what they need to be safe, warm, dry, and fed.
There are some mothers who are showered with love on a daily basis, still, others are abused, beaten, raped, and left for dead. Ignored by their children, screamed at by their spouse or partner, some mothers have just given up and Mother’s Day is nothing more than just another day for her to cook, clean, and cater to her ungrateful family’s every whim. We see you, we understand you, and WE appreciate you for all that you do – even if nobody else does.
Whatever stage of “Mom” you may currently be immersed in, embroiled in, embraced in – remember that you matter. You are raising our next generation of leaders, scientists, teachers, astronauts, a Supreme Court judge, perhaps even a President.
Gifts for Mom
We know that sometimes husbands and children forget that Mom deserves our love and respect for all that she does for us. If that is your situation, buy yourself something special on Mother’s Day. YOU DESERVE IT! If you are a husband or child who wants to show Mom how much you care for her and all that she does for you and your family – we have a lovely selection of gifts she’s sure to love. Check back often because we will be adding gift ideas every day!
