Are You Being Pulled From Pillar to Post?

mom life

If you feel like you’re being pulled from pillar to post, then it’s definitely a feeling that so many people around you are feeling as well. Being a mom is a full-time job, and most likely a full-time job that you’re having to do around your full-time job. As well as still be a partner, if you have one. All of this is being done whilst you’re trying to maintain some sort of life for yourself, but how often do we see that happen, either.

Moms become a mom, and that’s the label that they get. It can be so isolating, yet we don’t feel like people are ready to talk about it. We know it’s hard to maintain a relationship once a child comes into your life because of how focused you are on them, but it’s so important that you think about yourself as well. Friendships will come and go, that’s a fact of life at any point in your life. But for your life to crumble completely and for you to succumb to being a mom entirely, is not something that you should be doing.

That feeling of being pulled pillar to post is not natural. Because it’s everyone else doing it, not necessarily yourself. You need to find that perfect harmony in life, and let us tell you that it is possible. We want to show you how you can get the most out of your life, bring some calm to it, and actually enjoy life. Keep on reading to find out more.

Knowing Your Responsibilities

There are responsibilities that we all have throughout life. As moms, we’re far more inclined to think that our responsibilities are a family and that’s it. This is true, your family will become a large part of your responsibility, but you shouldn’t let that define you. Think back to when you were a teenager and your responsibilities started to grow. All of a sudden you had to decide your future and a rush of career and life decisions were thrown at you.

It’s your responsibility to recheck them as an adult to make sure that you’re on the right path. This should get you thinking about the dreams and aspirations you used to have as a child, and how they might have changed now. Did you have a dream career in mind that you could still achieve? Did you want to start a hobby? Did you want to move abroad? We have so many years on this earth to do the things we want to do, and it’s important to remember that truly anything is possible if you set your mind to it, no matter what type of life you’re leading now.

You also need to realize that your family is not just your responsibility. Your partner and your wider family also gained a little human to love and care for, so don’t be afraid to lean on them if you know you need a little breather. You’re the main carer, and no doubt tear your heart out every single day trying to keep your family ship running. So, don’t be afraid to take a day away from that to focus on your other responsibilities.

Pull Yourself Away From Mom Life

So this follows on nicely from how the last section ended. We as moms feel so guilty if we have to drop our kids off to school, especially at nursery when they can’t help but cry for you as you walk away, and you fight back those tears because you know they’re going to be fine. So why not do this for a whole day, just once or twice a month. We’re sure you will have family or your partner who can help you to get away for the day by being the childcare. If not, there are so many professional nannying services that you can rely on.

Even if you spend the day going and getting the shopping done, or cleaning the house, we know you’ll breathe a sigh of relief when you know you’re not doing it with children in tow. That’s not a bad thing to say either. It’s fine to want a break away from the rush of the day that you’re used to. If you really want to make the most of it, get out with friends or with your partner. We know that not every woman is lucky enough to still be with their partner, so why not get out and start dating? It’s refreshing for your mind, body, and soul, to do this at least once a month. We know it will help you to keep your sanity.

Self-Care Is Essential

Self-care is most definitely essential, but how many of you moms can admit that you’re practicing it in no way, shape, or form. We’re not talking about getting up early enough so that you can put some makeup on in the morning. We’re talking about it from the point of actually caring for your body and what it needs.

Basic human needs go out the window for moms because they’re so focused on everything else that’s going on in their life. Take a simple thing like your eyesight. When was the last time that you went to get tested? If so, did you get the prescription they gave you, or did you get distracted and think you’ll be ok without it? Well, fear not busy moms, with Amazon echo glasses you can get the prescription that you need to be delivered right to your doorstep. All you need to do is know the prescription type.

The same goes for simple things like getting your hair one. Having your hair cut and washed is something you should do every eight weeks, rather than waiting until it looks like something out of a horror film. As long as you can meet the basic care needs that you have, you’ll feel so much better about yourself as a whole, and find it easier to find personal happiness.
