Review: Double Inks Remanufactured Ink Cartridges

I have had the pleasure of reviewing Focus Remanufactured Ink Cartridges for my Hewlett Packard Photosmart All-In-One Printer from Double Inks free of charge. I was provided with two black cartridges and one color cartridge.

Have you purchased remanufactured ink cartridges before for your printer? Were you disappointed? That has been my experience 9 out of 10 times I have purchased remanufactured ink cartridges. I’ve purchased them online from Amazon.com, from OfficeMax and from Office Depot and from Staples. Disappointed 90% of the time.

The reason for my disappointment is because the cartridges either ran out of ink too quickly (did not even last through an entire ream of paper on draft printing) or my Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart C4480 all in one printer would not recognize them. My frustration levels went above and beyond the normal, and I resigned myself to only using the printer for emergencies only, because quite frankly – I think spending $35 to purchase a black / color ink cartridge combination is too much considering they run out before I can go through 100 sheets of paper (and they claim that I can print up to 170 pages before they expire). The black HP cartridge (just one) is $20 by itself.

As much as the boys and I use the printer (school projects, blog planner pages, notes to keep on hand, receipts, etc.) we needed an affordable option for our printing needs.

DoubleInks Cartridges

Double Inks sent me the Focus remanufactured ink cartridges – two black and one color – for me to test. Quite honestly, I feared the dreaded “this cartridge is not compatible with your machine” message that I received the last two times I attempted to use a remanufactured cartridge. I cut the printer off and removed the old cartridges and put in the new ones. I turned the machine back on and waited.

My printer booted up, and it began the test of the cartridges. Imagine my completely and utter surprise when my machine informed me that I was using “authorized remanufactured cartridges” and went through the process absolutely effortlessly. I printed and scanned my test page – and have been using the cartridges ever since with not nary a problem!

I love the beautiful, crisp, clean print of the cartridges – in draft mode or in normal mode – they are equally crisp and clean and the ink is lasting as I hoped it would. I’ve printed oodles of pages for my blogger planner, printed black and white as well as color images from the Internet or my children’s school projects, and printed numerous graphic design flyers for companies that I work for. All without a single problem, without any fuss.

So if you are in the market for a remanufactured ink cartridge – head on over to Double Inks and look up your printer type and cartridge model. Double Inks is sure to have exactly what you need at an affordable price. Where Hewlett Packard charges $33.99 for one black and one color cartridge – I can purchase two black and one color cartridge from Double Inks for just $28.99. That is right up our budget alley!
