We are back with our Friday Finds for the week of May 18, 2018! I hope each and every one of you lovely ladies out there who are moms had an absolutely wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. Little Goodall Summer Collection

Love to have your little ones looking adorable but want them to be comfortable and cool in the hot weather? The Little Goodall Summer Collection feels soft and cool against sun-kissed skin, and they are too adorable for words!

Thoughtfully designed for the activity and motion of a busy child, each Little Goodall piece is handmade with the highest quality and attention to detail, so the outfits will last for years to come. This summer’s must-haves include:

Girl’s Dairy Maid Dress: Adorable fine linen sundress with oversized pockets, and a hand pieced cow who is munching dimensional flowers. Buttons down the back and ties with long white sashes (don’t miss the cow tail in the back!). The straps have several buttonholes, so the dress can be worn for several summers. White linen is densely woven and not see-through.

Then we have the Boy’s Friendly Lion Romper: Hear him roar this summer! This 100% cotton blue gingham romper features an adorable embroidered lion face and dimensional mane and ears. Buttons at shoulders and snaps underneath.

Grad Gifts for College Bound Kids

One of the first things that friends, and family think of gifting a graduating senior who is headed off to college are items for their dorm room. Some items they will use, other items will find their way into another dorm room or tossed in the trash. This year, give your college bound kids something they will use, and something that will keep their minds healthy!

Zero Water’s 7-Cup Ready Pour has a sealed lid and reservoir, making it possible to pour water that has already been filtered without spilling water that is still filtering. College room dream! That way there is still some water in the pitcher even if your roommate takes the last drip. Fits in a dorm fridge!

With a MSRP of $21.99, these are perfect for your college student. Filters last approximately 25-40 gallons with an average TDS reading of 50-200.

I did a test using regular tap water, spring water, and ZeroWater to show you the levels of TDS in each. Click each image to view the gallery.

Summer Reading

No matter what you do during the summer, there is always time to read a good book – and these three are sure to be keeping me on the edge of my seat at the pool this summer!

Chasing the Merry-Go-Round by Kelly Bargabos

Chasing the Merry-Go-Round is a true story about holding on to hope and home when the world moves too fast. You can read an excerpt of the book on Amazon.com here and I highly suggest that you do because you will be hooked.

This story is about Kelly’s brother, Bobby. She begins the story in 1976 when Bobby entered her life. You see, Bobby was 10 months old when Kelly’s mom and dad rescued him from birth parents who were slowly killing him. They adopted him into their family after a lengthy custody battle. An adoption that you think would have settled Bobby, had the opposite effect and set off a lifelong struggle to find a place to belong, a place to call home.

Just like an old-fashioned merry-go-round, life moved way too fast for Bobby. He couldn’t keep up, which prevented him from keeping a job, a roof over his head, and being able to provide the basics for himself that he needed to survive. The life Bobby dreamt of was always out of reach, and nobody knew why.

Sanity Lost & Found: A True Story of Brainwashing and Recovery by Tarra Judson Stariell

Sanity Lost & Found is another book that offers an excerpt for you to read on Amazon and again – read it! Set in the 70s, this true story of childhood trauma, emotionally distant parents, drugs, sex, and cults will have you on the edge of your seat. I read the first five chapters the day I received it – I couldn’t put it down. (The boys literally ripped the book from my hands begging for food before they shriveled away to nothing).

We all know what cults are, but very few will ever have reason to confront one in their own lives. It’s something other families might have to deal with, something that impacts other children – not your own. Right? Maybe not …

Sanity Lost & Found is about a bright and beautiful child brought up in an idyllic ranch setting and, as a young woman, Sandy should have had it all. Instead, she fell prey to a psychopath who consumed more than a decade and a half of her life.

For anyone who has ever allowed themselves to be victimized, for anyone who has ever doubted their value, for anyone wanting to protect their children from such vulnerabilities, Sanity Lost & Found is a compelling, informative, and inspirational read that weaves together the how and the why for such vulnerabilities and the components necessary for recovery and transformation.

Unfu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop

Have you ever sat back and wondered just what it was that is standing in your way of you living your best life? The life that you want? We usually blame things like relationships, money, jobs, unfortunate circumstances but the truth of the matter is that there is only ONE BARRIER TO YOUR BEST LIFE: YOU.

I get that. I overthink so much at times, that I just talk myself out of doing something that I might actually succeed at doing, and succeed well! I’ve read other books by author Gary John Bishop and I have to tell you – you don’t want to read this if you are easily offended. Why? Because he keeps it real. He’s going to tell you:

You have the life you are willing to put up with.

Deep isn’t it? Go pop your pretty self over to Amazon and read the excerpt and then buy the book. This is definitely one you are going to want to add to your summer reading list if you’re tired of being on the hamster wheel and getting nowhere.

Nighty Night and Goodnight

I am a huge – HUGE – Michael W. Smith fan. Aside from being a Grammy winner and Christian singer, did you know that he has now added children’s author to his list of accomplishments? In Nighty Night and Goodnight, Michael teams up with Mike Nawrocki, co-creator of VeggieTales and the voice of Larry the Cucumber, to bring your kids this adorable cute and cuddly bedtime book. This *almost* made me want to have more little ones just so I could read this to them! (That’s okay – I’ll wait for the grandkids!)

Nighty Night and Good Night by Michael W Smith

There is this adorable animal band called the Nighty Nights and they are called upon to help their friend Ben fall asleep. Oh it’s just too cute for words! Watch the video.
