Safe Cleaning Supplies for Your Home

Safe Cleaning Supplies for a Cleaner and Healthier Home

Tomorrow starts our National Cleaning Week (March 24 to March 30). Taking responses from the survey you so graciously answered, I’m going to be posting a few “quick tips” here for you today to get you in the mood and tell you how to make some green cleaning supplies. Yes ladies, cleaning is kinda like sex … ya gotta get in the mood to do it and throw everything you’ve got into it while you’re doing it if you want to reap the benefits (aka get your orgasm on).

If you are “going green” and want to use only natural cleaning agents in your home, or just have someone with a highly sensitive nose and/or allergies (read The Man Thing) then these little tricks are right up your alley.

To mix these concoctions up – here’s what you will need:

  • Water
  • Baking Soda
  • Lemon Juice
  • White Vinegar
  • Kosher Salt
  • Club Soda
  • Liquid Soap
  • Cornmeal
  • Toothpaste
  • Ketchup
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Sponges
  • Stiff Brush
  • Paper Towels
  • Cleaning Cloth

Most of us already have all of these items in our homes, so it shouldn’t cost you much to restock or purchase any of these items you may be missing.

You can find all the recipes you need from The Daily Green using the ingredients above to clean your porcelain & tile, kitchen counters, windows & mirrors, carpets & rugs, hardwood floors, ovens, clogged drains as well as tricks for effortlessly cleaning your silver and copper!

Granted, using these natural ingredients may mean you might have to scrub a little harder, scrub a little longer, but anything worth doing is worth doing right, right?

If you’re not a “green cleaner” – head on out to your local dollar store and stock up on your Windex, your furniture polish, your oven cleaner, your Fantastik, or whatever else you use to make your house sparkle. Next up is how to get your arse in the mood to do this crap!
