The key to taking care of your roof is regular maintenance, and if you get that scheduled in, you won’t actually have to think about your roof – someone else will handle it all for you. You might think that, but there could be all sorts of issues going on behind the scenes, so it’s a good idea to check around on a regular basis (again, every six months makes sense to keep on top of things) just in case. You might spot a small leak that would have become a big one over time, for example, and if it’s fixed quickly, it’s going to save you money and stress. 

Keep Up With Your Painting 

A fresh coat of exterior paint doesn’t just make your home look pretty (although that’s definitely another benefit of doing it) – it also protects it from the elements. You might not have realized it, but exterior paint actually acts as a barrier against moisture, pests, and other wear and tear that can make your home look older and less cared for than it is. 

It’s wise to touch up any peeling paint as soon as you notice it, especially around doors and windows where water might sneak in and cause issues. Plus, caulking around windows, doors, and any other openings can keep those pests and that moisture out, so you can do that at the same time as painting to make things extra safe and secure.
