COVID-19 has been a whirlwind of a problem for the world in the last few months. From the time of the first case in Wuhan, we have experienced cases all over the world and as a result, we are all in lockdown awaiting further instructions.
Unless you have a job that allows you to work from home, being in the house might become incredibly boring very fast. If you are struggling to know how to spend your time, you’ll know that any small form of exercise is one that is important. You need to exercise to stay healthy, but when all of the gyms are closed how can you get lean and fit?
Well, there are plenty of ways to stay fit in the home and get your daily dose of exercise and we are here to share a few with you today!
Cleaning
The first easy way to stay fit while you are stuck in the house is to scrap the cleaning services and get your hands dirty. Cleaning is a great full-body exercise and things such as vacuuming, scrubbing, and reaching to dust high places will stretch your muscles and help you lose a few pounds. Keeping the home clean has never been more appealing and you can make the whole thing more fun by putting your favorite playlist on and bopping along while you clean!
Gardening
One of the fun hobbies you can start to get to grips with this spring in isolation is gardening. Whether you already know a thing or two ago gardening or you are a total novice, you can get out in the fresh air and start making your garden into an outdoor paradise. Mowing the lawn is a full-body exercise, and kneeling to weed, and sow seeds are great for the arms and shoulders. As well as this, you can get some great weight lifting exercise with pruning and chopping down branches.
Cooking
Cooking a great meal is one of the great joys in life, but when all you have in the house is a tin of beans and some pasta it can be much more challenging. However, cooking can actually be a good upper body workout, and chopping veggies and meat can be a good way to help your arm muscles stay lean during isolation. Play around with food and try to make a fresh meal every night and you’ll get your exercise every day.
DIY
One of the more fun ways to spend your days when you are in quarantine is to do DIY. House projects are amazing to spend your time on and you will be able to get all of those little niggling jobs done once and for all. Decorating the house is the ideal way to spend time in isolation and you can get to grips with simple DIY tasks by watching YouTube videos and tutorials. It’ll be fun and you will also be able to make the house into a whole new living space for the spring!
